Most important event in youth activities in East Europe in this period was training held in Prague – “Young People’s role in the battle against the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children». Youth representatives from all countries where ECPAT has affiliate or national groups (except Byelorussia) attended this training.

Something about what has happened in the region:

I. Main activities in youth movement within Russian Alliance against CSEC (two organizations –Stellit and Sisters : research of the Situation with CSEC (gathering data as well as processing, analysis and description); primary Prevention (work with schools and boarding schools staff); harm Reduction and Rehabilitation of Children Victims of CSEC(outreach work with street children involved into different forms of CSEC); lobbing of Changing Laws and Administrative Documents in the Sphere of Counteraction against CSEC (forming Expert Council under  St. Petersburg Government from representatives of Committees, Governmental and NGO’s on CSEC counteraction issues); Changing Public Opinion on CSEC Issue; Coordination of the Activity of Governmental and Non-Governmental Organizations in Sphere of Counteraction against CSEC.

II. Youth Work in Estonia in the Field of Human Trafficking: Tartu Child Support Center for Abused Children is an affiliate member of ECPAT the main aim of Child Support Center related to ECPAT work is prevention - lectures to risk group. Youth participation related to  ECPAT is a rather new thing due to the overall situation in Estonia concerning human trafficking. The topic itself and attention to it is a somewhat recent phenomenon.

III. Main areas of youth work in Ukraine – Report of School of Equal Opportunities and La strada:
1.Cooperation with mass media: press-club after/before each seminar/training/conference, elaboration of the press releases, writing articles which cover the successful work of young trainers, conducting of press-conference about the projects concerning trafficking in children prevention and actualization, elaboration of TV programs about trafficking in children and protection of children rights
2.Carrying out of trainings according to the principle of peer-education in 19 regions of Ukraine
3.Carrying out preventive actions with performances of gender interactive theatres on trafficking in children: performance about slavery of present-day, traps of trafficking in children, interactive campaign with games and theatrical techniques
4.Summer and Winter schools  ‘Prevention of Trafficking in children’. Aim of the program is preparation of young trainers among active young leaders to carry out non-formal education and the activities on prevention of trafficking in children in different regions of Ukraine using peer education techniques.
5.Elaboration of the leaflets, Newsletters and posters about CSEC
6.Establishing a manual for trainers made by children about actualization and prevention of trafficking in children and CSEC

7.Establishing the Hot Line service for help and consultation (by La strada)
8.Organization of education for representatives of local authorities, teachers, representatives of Mass Media, governmental representatives and police officers for their further involving to development of prevention of trafficking in children and CSEC
         
IV. Most important youth activities in Serbia – Beosupport: The Beosupport Team (BS TEAM) of young people is now functioning as a well organized and unique body. A great progress was achieved in children's participation in all activities conducted by BS in the period from 1st January until 1st June 2006. Everyday tours of duty in the focal point from 3.00 – 6.00 p.m. enabled young people to devise and prepare their activities. The young people themselves initiated many activities, visits and attendances to various seminars and lectures on the theme of sexual exploitation of children and the youth and on the themes of activism of young people. Also, young people made contacts with a lot of young people’s NGOs, making them familiar with the mission of Beosupport. The most important activities carried out by young people were the following:
Meetings of BS Teams (networking, fund raising, media, AIDS)
Workshops related to protection of children against violence - for children at risk in high schools in Belgrade
